The VendNovation System

The VendNovation solution is made up of four distinct components

  • The VendConnect hardware is installed inside the vending machine. It's connected to the DEX port, and to your choice of network connection (RJ45 Ethernet or wireless Ethernet). This connection facilitates the real time transmission of sales data to the VendNovation central website where information is consolidated and maintained for your vending operation.

    VendConnect may be connected into MDB bus as well and when accompanied with VendNovation Credit card hardware, keypad or biometric devices, can authorize credit card or cash account purchases through the VendAccount side.

  • The VendControl webside is the vending company's window into the real time operation of the vending hardware. From this website, the vendor can access data on current machine status, hardware alerts, earnings by machine, by product, by route, by region, ...as well as building their own customized reports from information retained in the database. Using this information, the warehouse operation can pre-pull product to service machines, change the priority of machines in the service cycle based on empty columns or predicted usage, and respond to hardware problems such as failed compressors. Questions such as:
    • What product does my machine(s) need today?
    • Do I need to service the machine today?
    • What are the current sales by machine, by site, by route?
    • Which products are moving, which ones are not?
    are quickly answered.

  • The VendSite website can be made available to site managers who have an interest viewing current commission status. Reports on earning by machine as well as commission value provided the type of information that sites require for accountability, all through a third party provider. This has been shown to be a powerfule sales tool in landing new sites as well as negotiating commission and placement with site managers.

  • The VendManager website facilitates cashless vending in conjunction with the VendConnect card reader, keypad, or biometric unit.
    • At the base level, the credit card reader facilitates Visa/MasterCard transactions using the VendNovation gateway. Vendors need only provide merchant account information and the ability to do low fee credit transactions will be enabled.
    • For institutional (school, hospital, campus) installation, the VendAccount capabilities can include magnetic stripe student ID's, employee ID's, barcodes, fingerprint scans or keypad numeric entry to access individual cash accounts maintained on the VendNovation server. These accounts can be "charged" via a credit card transaction allowing the individual to use their ID card to purchase items through the vending operation. For schools, provisions have been made to have overseer accounts where parents could limit the types of food the student can purchase and/or the times the student can purchase through the vending operation. E-mail alerts notify the account holder of low balances and the card can be recharged easily through any web browser connection.
    • Integration with existing Point of Sales (POS) operations can be easily done on a custom basis.
